About these terms

These terms govern your use of mart.akontec.com, operated by Akontec Synergy Pvt Ltd (CIN U70200WB2026PTC288824). By using the site you accept them.

They do not govern any engagement between us. If you engage Akontec, a separate written agreement applies and takes precedence over anything on this website.

Nothing here is advice

The content of this site is general information about setting up and operating convenience and grocery retail businesses in the United States and the United Kingdom. It is not legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, insurance, immigration, property or licensing advice, and it is not a recommendation to enter any particular venture.

Akontec is not a law firm, an accountancy practice, a surveyor, an estate agency, a licensed insurance broker, an immigration adviser or a licensing authority. Regulated work in any venture we coordinate is performed by independent licensed professionals in the relevant jurisdiction, engaged directly by you.

You should take your own professional advice before committing capital.

This is not a passive investment

A retail store requires a manager physically present during trading hours and staff to cover the rota. Those are fixed costs from the first month of trading and they cannot be performed remotely. Nothing on this site should be read as suggesting that a store can be operated without staff on the premises.

No guarantees of outcome

Nothing on this site is a promise, projection, forecast or guarantee of income, profit, turnover, footfall, margin, return or business success. Any figures shown are illustrative planning ranges based on stated assumptions and will not match your actual results.

We do not guarantee that any company will be formed within a given period, that any suitable site will become available or at any particular rent, that any alcohol, tobacco, lottery or other licence will be granted or on what conditions, that any planning consent will be obtained, that any utility upgrade will be delivered on a given date, that any bank account will be opened, or that any business will trade profitably.

Every venture carries the risk of loss, including the total loss of capital deployed.

Licensing

Alcohol, tobacco, lottery and food licences and registrations are granted at the discretion of the authority concerned, frequently following a public process in which objections may be made. Local policy, including saturation and cumulative impact policy, may create a presumption against grant.

We will not arrange any arrangement in which a named licence holder or designated premises supervisor is not genuinely involved in operating the business.

Ownership does not confer immigration rights

Owning or holding an interest in a company in the United States or the United Kingdom does not give you any visa, residence permit, right of entry or right to work in that country. We do not provide immigration advice and will not assist with any arrangement designed to circumvent immigration requirements.

Regulatory information may change

Licensing regimes, planning rules, tax obligations, employment law and product regulation in the United States and the United Kingdom change frequently and vary by state, county, city and local authority. Descriptions on this site are general and may be out of date or inapplicable to your chosen location.

We verify the position for your specific location as part of an engagement. Do not rely on this site as a statement of current law anywhere.

Fees and figures

Fee structures described on this site are indicative of how we normally charge. They are not an offer. Specific percentages, minimums, thresholds and amounts are agreed per venture and set out in a written proposal and order form.

The engagement fee to begin the process and the capital requirement for a venture are separate figures and should not be confused.

Your use of the site

You may view, print and download content for your own reference. You may not republish, sell, systematically copy or scrape the site, or use it to build a competing service, without our written consent.

You must not attempt to interfere with the site, submit automated or fraudulent enquiries, or use the enquiry form for anything other than a genuine enquiry.

Intellectual property

All content, design, text, layout and code on this site are owned by or licensed to Akontec Synergy Pvt Ltd. Third-party names are used descriptively. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorised by any franchise, symbol group, wholesaler, delivery platform or brand referred to.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss arising from reliance on the content of this site, including loss of profit, loss of business opportunity and consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Liability arising under any engagement is governed by the agreement for that engagement, not by these terms.

Governing law

These website terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Chennai, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

The governing law of any engagement is stated in the agreement for that engagement and may differ.
